Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Sanjay Gupta Says The ‘Insider-Outsider’ Debate Is Completely Nonsense: ‘Right Upto His Death, SSR Was Getting Film Offers’
The debate about nepotism in Bollywood, and the whole ‘insider- outsider’ issue reignited after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Many celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut spoke up about nepotism and the pressure Sushant must have faced being an outsider in the film industry. Many celebrities themselves gave several interviews, sharing their views on this matter. Now, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, in a recent interview, shared that the ‘insider-outsider’ debate is nonsense and that Sushant was actually getting film offers, but him not doing the movies was his choice.

While speaking with ETimes about the same, Sanjay Gupta said, “Too much of an issue, this whole 'insider'outsider' is complete nonsense. Everybody is using it, haa dekho main bahar se thi ya main bahar se tha, main to star ban gaya na.” He in fact said that the industry is quite welcoming. “There are hardly any instances where everybody has ganged up and said ‘you know what, lets teach this guy a lesson, or make him sit at home.’ Nobody does that.”

Furthering opening up about Sushant Singh Rajput, he said that Sushant was quite a successful bankable star, and not some ‘climbing the ladder’ actor. He said that Sushant was getting film offers, and that he wasn’t shunned by the industry.

“I mean right upto his death, he was getting film offers. He was not doing it, that was his choice. It was not that he was shunned. He was a bloody star. SSR was not some 'climbing the ladder' actor. You could sell films on his name,” said Sanjay Gupta.  ALSO READ: Vivek Oberoi Thanks Sanjay Gupta For Coming To His Defence In Nepotism Debate; 'It Feels Unfair When People Make Uninformed Comments'
